- At Southern Style Granite, we house all of
our slabs inside. UV rays will fade the polish and color of
your slab. Also, Acidic Rain will wear away the resin coating
on your slab. The resin coating is important for the smooth
texture and waterproofing of your slab.
- The edge should match the top surface’s color and
shine exactly. Don’t let a fabricator tell you that the edge
is supposed to be whiter than the top. We know how to make it
match.
- We invest in a templating system that allows no room
for error. Many companies use laser templating sytems or use
tape measures. These systems are not as accurate as ours.
- Chris and Darren Cifreo, the owners, are involved
with every step of your job from design to installation. With
us, there are no middle men or subcontractors. The people you
meet at the shop will be the ones that show up for estimations,
templates, and intallation.
- Southern Style Granite prides itself on installing
Top-Quality jobs. We exclusively work with 3cm premium stones
for many reasons. Some examples include: 3cm Granite can be
guaranteed, 2cm cannot and 3cm has the look of being luxurious
and “grand,” 2 cm does not. (For the amount of money you pay
to have granite countertops, many times 3cm is just a few more
dollars per square foot. It’s definitely worth it!) Call us
today with any questions.
- Granite Countertops do not require frequent sealing or complicated maintenance. The manufacturers of Engineered Stone often refer to natural stone as being time consuming and difficult to maintain. This is a false statment. The truth is only a few stones may require sealing every 6-12 months, most require a sealer only about every three years. Sealing is very easy to do yourself and is no more than a wipe on/ wipe off process. Call us today to get a bottle of professional sealer.
- Effective marketing conducted by manmade quartz surface
makers has led the general public to believe that “engineered
stone” is superior to granite and therefore we should pay more
for imitation stone than we would pay for the real thing. The
truth is that manmade materials are NOT superior in any way
to natural stone. To those of us in the natural stone industry
who know the real cost of all these products, it is like paying
more for an imitation diamond than for a real diamond.
- Pots and pans heated to 1200 degrees
Fahrenheit will not dull natural granite's lustrous finish,
but the use of trivets is recommended to keep your granite counter
clean. On the other hand, with Engineered Stones, the surface
is generally resistant to the heat from hot plates and other
heat-producing equipment of up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit only.
(Trivets are small trays placed beneath hot cookware or plates
to protect your table or countertop.)
